Frederick David Berthrong has Arrived!

Well, despite the hold ups at the hospital Frederick David Berthrong was born today at 1:17pm PST. It was definitely a different experience casually getting the car, making a few stops, and chatting casually as we drove to the hospital. No frantic rushing around, no forgetting of car keys, no forgetting of directions etc. It was actually a very pleasant experience. We got to the hospital, a nice nurse got Moriah allready to go, we went into to OR and the doctor pulled a baby out of Moriah's tummy. A little like watching Alien? Perhaps, but the creature that came out was really pretty cute! One look was enough to firm up our decision to name him Frederick (after his Pappy) David (after his Grandad) Berthrong. As for the numbers he was 8 lb 8.5oz and 19 inches long.

For those of you who want to know how Moriah is doing - she is doing great. She started wiggling her toes at 4pm and has been smiling ever since!

We are elated at your happy news! He is a beautiful baby and looks content to be here. Congratulations to you all on another blessed miracle.

With love,
Nana and Pappy

PS
My father came from a family of three boys and he has stories to tell! His advice (at 90) to the parents is "buckle your seat belts and enjoy the ride!" :)

Congratulations! Frederick is adorable and so alert! What a special weekend to be born on - Happy Mother's Day Moriah. I hope your recovery goes well. My advice for c-section recovery is take it easy, accept and ask for lots of help, and don't vacuum your house till after 6 weeks!
