Double Digits

Earlier this month Travis turned 10!  He adds so much to out family.  He has a great enthusiasm for life and learning (and legos).   This year he chose to invite a friend to go with us to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry).  This place is right up Travis alley and we had a wonderful time.

 

In the physic experiment room there is an area where you can play with static electricity.  The boys had fun cranking the wheel to make my hair stand on end.

 

We tried it with Ruthann too.  She was a bit stunned and tried to hold down her hair.  When Alex turned around so she could see herself in the mirror she was delighted.

It was a fun day, ending with ice cream cake and lots of lego building.  Travis loves building sets, modifying them, then creating entirely new creations with all his pieces.  Currently he is thinking he would like to be a lego designer when he grows up, a job he would be wonderful at as he is quite creative.  Other than legos Travis also enjoys school.  He is earning excellent grades and in March moved up to 5th grade English, History, Language Arts, and Health.  He is almost done with 4th grade Math and Science (he just completed Art).  He is a great student.  Travis also started piano in February.  Saturday he had his first recital.
