She talks more now but still a majority of what she says is not in English. Sometimes you can tell what she is trying to say based on inflection and other times you can determine her gist by one or two actual words mixed into the emphatic speech she gave. I love her little voice, especially when I find her walking around singing or sitting and quietly reading to her dolls. She does love her "babies" and had a great time getting new supplies for them on her birthday.
She also greatly loves her Dad. Throughout the day she will ask for him or come up to me and declare, "daddy work" in a sad voice.
When he comes home she races for the door yelling, "daddy, daddy home!"
She loves the days when he is home and she can spend the day following him around or playing with him.
Ruthann is one very busy girl. She has a mind of her own and she knows how to use her squeal to make her wishes (demands is perhaps the more accurate word) known. She has given up on the stool and now a chair is her new best friend. She can drag that all over and oh the things she can get into with the help of her trusty chair. She watches something done once and is ready to do it herself. She certainly keeps me on my toes.
Ruthann is quite delightful. I love beginning to see glimpses of how she thinks and who she is. She loves to cuddle and is still very attached to me despite her independent streak. She wants to do everything herself but with me very close by. Her brothers adore her. Frederick makes sure she is not spoiled too much and she is helping him learn how to share and respect that everyone is not going to play things exactly as he wants. For some reason their new favorite game right now is the two of them going into Fredericks room and Ruthann singing to him while he lays in bed. Now really sure how that started but when he wants to play with her, and after she makes it clear that she is not going to wrestle or play chase, he will suggest, "want to go sing to me in my bed?" and she will grab his hand and off they go. Sometimes she is the one in bed which results in her laying there for a few seconds then leaping up and running out of the room with her arms in the air yelling, "wake now!" At that point everyone around is supposed to clap and cheer that she has returned to our presence.
