Well, after much tribulation, Ruthann decided to throw everyone for a loop and arrive exactly when she was expected. Given all the excitement she has caused in the weeks leading up to her birth we were prepared for anything...but she gave us no trouble at all as she made her debut. Moriah did phenomenally (of course) during the C-section and the hospital staff was wonderful. For the stats folks Ruthann weighed 8 lb 3.6 oz and was 19 inches long at the time of her birth 7.4 hrs ago. At this moment ( 2 poops post weight check) all bets are off on the weight. It is, however, reassuring to note that we can safely expect that the pooping hasn't effected her length much. That's about as current as I can be on stats.
She has been very content and easy going despite all the rude things nurses like to do to newborns. Moriah reports that she has already passed her nursing competancy test and sleep aptitude test. I personally tested her waterproofness during her first bath and report no unexpected leaks.
All in all you would be hard pressed to find a couple of parents more pleased than we are right now. You might be less hard pressed to find pleased parents in 72 hours but for right now...good luck.
