Grandma and Grandpa's house

The end of Jan we took a long awaited trip to Southern CA. We all had a wonderful time. Brandon was able to celebrate his 10th birthday while there. I can't believe how old he is getting! He and his cousin David had a great time before we came planning his party. It started off with a treasure hunt on the beach where they dug up a bag of money that David and his Dad had buried there a few months ago. They had a great time. After the treasure hunt the rest of us met them at the beach for cake and "coconut cream" (Frederick friendly form of ice cream) and a lively game of capture the flag with foam swords. This too was very fun and Brandon felt very celebrated.

Frederick took to his Grandpa at once and would greet him each evening with an exuberant "hi" while running to give him a huge hug. We all love you Grandpa and Frederick still likes to carry around your picture.
Of course our trip included a visit to CA Adventures and Disneyland. We had a great time at both places. Brandon and Alex went on all the fast rides several times. Travis loved Midway Mania and the Jungle Cruise. I think Frederick favorite was just running around with all the people and things to look at, and the carousal.

Brandon, Travis and their cousin Michael were chosen to train as a Jedi. Frederick was scared for his brothers and had to leave but they were strong in the force and won.

The cars are fun. Frederick enjoyed getting to know his Aunt Shauna better this trip. Hopefully she can make a visit up here to see us soon (hint, hint).

This was Frederick's favorite ride of the day. I think he went on it 5 or 6 times and almost everyone took him as it was so fun to see his excitement.

Thanks so much for the wonderful time. Brandon and Travis had so much fun with not only their Grandparents but also David, Michael, Aunt Shauna, Uncle Dave and Aunt Suzanne. Frederick and Hailey hit it off too, both are very social babies and loved each other at first sight. They kept picking up toys and giving them to each other. We hope you guys can make it up here this summer!
