Facts from Brandon and Travis

Brandon and Travis would like to share a few of the things they have learned about. Fist up is Travis:
Amenhotep made the first pyramid! The Giza pyramids were built 1,500 years ago and all three are still standing! The largest Giza pyramid was 500 feet tall!
The ancient Egyptians didn't know what a person's brain was for so they threw it away when they made a mummy!

Here is Brandon's:
Revolutionary War Cannon Facts
1. In the Revolutionary war cannons were very important. If you had a cannon you could break into enemy forts by destroying walls and blowing down doors. If you were near the coast, your ships could carry cannons on board and provide cover fire for your troops on land.
2. There are two types of cannon bullets. When we think of cannon bullets we think of huge, heavy balls of lead. in some cases they are, but when fighting enemy ground troops, the cannon were loaded with what is called grape shot. Grape shot is lots of bullets bigger than ones shot from guns, but smaller than big cannon balls. When shot the bullets spread and can take out multiple soldiers. The bigger and better known type is the heavy cannon ball, which is used to break down doors and demolish forts.
