Eggs
Ruthann found and gave to Travis a Robin egg. We enjoyed it's deep blue color and how tiny and perfect it was (and were also amazed that Ruthann had delivered it to us undamaged as she has been known to drag her chair over to the counter, climb up to grab an egg left out and quickly crack it into an unheated pan when breakfast was not delivered quickly enough). The joys and delights of spring...
When Alex got home we were out collecting chicken eggs and Travis mentioned to him about the Robin egg. "Lets eat it," was Alex's first response. I guess they were collecting eggs so eggs as food was on his mind. After candling it to make sure there was no chick inside we cooked it up with a chicken egg. The white cooked completely differently, bubbled and turned into a gel.
And the taste...
let's just say you won't be finding Robin eggs in the store anytime soon.
